TROUBLE ON CHINESE NORTHERN BORDER.

RIVAL GENERALS QUARRELLING

(Received July 28, 10.45 p.m.) New York, July 24. According to the Pekin correspondent of the "New York Times," trouble is brewing on the northern border of China. Rival Chinese generals have quarrelled, and their respective armies clashed at Kirin. It is , believed that Japanese troops are proceeding to the scene of hostilities to protect Japanese lives and interests.

The correspondent adds that a Japanese army is marching to Urga, ostensibly for the purpose -of resisting Seminoff's pan-Mongolian movement, but that its actual purpose is to subjugate the Mongols.
