"We nmst have an air force," said General Robin, in proposing a vote of thanks to ColcT.el Bettmgton, R.AJ?., Adviser on Aerial Defence to the JSew Zealand Government, who addressed, the officers of the Garrison Club last night. Sir A. Robin added :,-"If we do not have machines to engage enemy machines in the event of invasion we must have anti-aircraft defence, and that Avould cost as much as aeroplanes, and, in my opinion, he less effective. There •will be-plenty of chances for young New Zealanders to take pact in this | branch of the service." I
