INTEREST,
{ Australian and N.Z. Cable Assoeiatixi)
N«w York, July 19. There is a strong feeling in tennis circles that Brookes and Patterson and Lycett and Thomas, who sail from England on the 26th to participate in the American national doubles, will be able to make an excellent showing. Some experts even go so far as to predict tnat the Australian;; will sweep the field clean. It in braved that Thomas and Lfvcett, who Uave been doing phenomenal work on European courts, will slum- a better result than Brookes and l-aitcrson, although Patterson is considered the best singles player in Australia. American tennis players place their hope m Murray, Tilden, Johnson and .Villiams, who are now hard at work preparing to moot the Australian champions. It is, hoped that McLoughlin and tfundy, who won the recent Pacific Coast sectional doubles, will also participate m the championship games.
