Melbourne, July 26. The Federal Council of the Seamen's Union agreed to recommend the seamen to resume work forthwith. The Government has given .an undertaking that it will summon a round table conference to deal with various existing disputes upon the resumption of work. Meetings of branches of the union will be called in the various centres to ratify the Council's decision.

Senator Millen Bays there is every prospect of work being resumed next Thursday pending the conference and subsequent arbitration.
