Christchurch, July 24. The body of the man which was discovered by a lad in the Ashley River, and subsequently disappeared, being carried away by the flood, was recovered by the police, and recognised as that of \\ alter Allen, aged 42, a returned soldier oi Rangiora. He had been suffering from the effects of a wound, shell shock, and insomnia. At the inquest a verdict oi found drowned was returned, there being no evidence to show how he came oy his death.
