BRITISH COMMITTEE'S REPORT,
EQUAL PAY RECOMMENDED

Woman's Work report in favour of equal pay for equal work; In other cases the relative values of-*the: work should be settled by the employers'- Vand trades unions. Married men should be paid children's allowances when equal pay might otherwise lead to the employment of -women instead of men. Other recommendations include improved hours and conditions, better sanitation, a minimum wage sufficient to enable single women over eighteen t<j possess decent lodgings, food, clothes, and personal appearance; and also fares, insurance, reasonable holidays, and amusements. The committee recommends that the State undertake the direct costs of maternity and widows' pensions.
