BOXING.
Allan Thompson, who was to have met Barney Ireland at the forthcoming tourney of the Ma'rlborough. Boxing Association, had. the" misfortune'to dislocate his thumb during training, consequently he has had to forego the match. Dr Bennett advises him that it will be fully 'three months before he can hope to enter the ring again. Thompson is unlucky as he was showing greiyo form, and had' a chance -to distinguish himself against Ireland. The Association is exceedingly fortunate in being able to secure Jack Heetiey, of Wellington to replace the Blenheim boxer.—'^Express."
