Hastings,. April 29. A large meeting of farmers on SaturunZ Pas, sed the following motions:— Ihat this meeting views with alarm the accumulation of frozen meat in New Zealand;-that the" Government be requested to make emphatic representations to the Imperial Government impressing on it the extreme urgency of having the} freezing works cleared before the commencement of the next season; that the Government- should demand the restitution of the original ■ position with regard to insulated space formerly allotted to the Dominion; and that this meeting protests against the inadequate space allotted to Hawke's Bay to the middle of May, which will not allow the works to kill the available fats."

During the discussion one speaker said the only thing the farmers could do was to let the English people know, through the Press Association, that they had six million carcases here bought at od per-lb, and that Argentine meat is being sold In England at Is 2d per lb. A strong deputation was appointed to proceed to Wellington in support of the resolutions. '
