RIVAL CLUB.

The annual meeting of ball Club was held over aJarg^ai^Mance;of;members;^- r ■'. Last year's report:showed:a very; sue* cessf ul season:v^.Tliersenioriteam made; two trips to Blenheim, arid althoughthey met with'defeat on both occasions they established: a^feeling pf igbod-fel-7 lowship* between the clubs* concerned.: The club was also successful in winning the Senior and Junior Cups; and; ;were runners-up in tlie Third-class Championship. ■ In connection with the;ltalianRed Cross Day seven-a-side tournamentthe senior seven were successful in winning, whilst the junior men were: run-; riers-up. ' ;..:.-"-■ ■■• '■•■ -'■'■■■■■:''■ "-■■':■. '": '! The balance-sheet showed a substantial credit -(balance, after all outstanding accounts had been paid. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to! Messrs R. Sinclair, T. Brennan, O.! Leaper, and ~W. Bennett for donations, received; also to Messrs T; Brennan, C. Leaper, and Green (Levin and Co.) for gold medals, which were competed for during the season. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows:—(Patron, Mr C. Hull, T. •' Louisson, and Woolf; delegates to Rug- : by Union, Messrs T. Brennan,. T. i Burke, J. Nisbett, A. McConchie, and A. E. Kitching. •New members elected were: Messrs H. Smith, J. Garvin A. Clements, McEwan, Trott, Phil. Westrupp, J. Ford, C. Lewis, C. McConchie, J. Stoubley, and M. Jamieson.' " It was proposed t(hat a team* visit, Havelock and Carluke at Easter. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded' Mr E. Opie for the free use of his room for meetings; also toMr A. E. Kitching for the able manner in wliich he carried out his duties of hon. secretary and, treasurer. . \ The expressed wish of those present was to see the Waimea, Old Boys, and Nelson Clubs again take the field this coming season. • j A hearty vote of thanks to the chair-j man terminated a very successful meeting. _ April 15th. A general meeting of the above club j was held in Opie's rooms last evening,; when Mr Baxter presided over a large attendance of members. The following new members- were elected: Messrs Baxter, S. King, H.I Graham, Wells, Rob, Housiaux, L. Me-' Conchie, Thomas, Wallace, and White, j It was resolved that Messrs E. Snow j and Baxter fill the two vacancies on'the Management Committee caused by resignations, Mr R. Ward was elected to fill the vacancy as Rugby Union delegate.
