Te Kuitr, April 10. Hari Hemara Wahanui, a great JVlaniapoto chief, died at• Te Kuiti yesterday. He had a great influence for the good of- the Natives. He represented the tribe at the coronation of KinoEdward. He made splendid efforts to recruit Maoris for the war.

At Te Ivuiti to-day a great tangi is being held. The burial will take place later at Otorohanga.
