Correspondence' was read and- dealt with, as under :— From Mr. W.' G. Tiller, drawing attention to ■'the frequent removal of Jarge quantities of sand from the north side of the Golf road, Tahunanui; to the danger of the road.—lt was resolved to prosecute any persons found removing sand without permission. , From Mr. 0. Kenning, Hope, applying to lease gravel pit.—Declined, pit already leased, lessee to be instructed to fence.

t From the secretary, Tahuna Progressive Association, drawing- attention to dangerous ruts in Golf road.—Left to members of the district and overseer. From the Minister of Public Health, thanking local bodies for assistance rendered during the recent epidemic. From same re "a special clean up week."—Received.

From the Minister of Internal Affairs re Peace celebrations.—Resolved, that £5 be granted towards entertaining the children of the Stoke-,Road Board district.

From Messrs. Pitt and Moore, asking for exemption of roads fronting Haycock's from the provisions of section 117 of the Public Works Act.—Resolved, that the request be acceded to. The balance-sheet for the year ended 31st March was read and adopted, and the secretary was complimented on the expeditious manner in which it had beeu completed. It was resolved to convey to the chairman and members of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board the Board's appreciation of the way in which they had dealt with the recent epidemic. Mr. Glen was appointed : returning officer for the'forthcoming..'Board election.
