. The Board of Governors of the Botanio Gardens, Adelaide, has received from the type orchard at Mylor specimens of several, varieties of apples little known,, but possessing qualities which should commend them to both growers and consumers. Bunyardv of Kent, who is a noted authority on fruit, and by whom it is highly recommended. It is an early dessert apple, ripening at a time when good dessert apples are scarce, thus filling a blank between the earlier kinds and the Jonathan. It has fruited for years at the orchard and has proved itself a consistent cropper and so far has not develop-i ed any faults. In this respect It is un-< like some of the classical English varieties which have been introduced. iandt grown, here. This variety is worth m place in any orchard. Grimes' Golden Pippin—An American variety, which; has been grown for upwards of a century, and is highly prized and able to hold, its owfi in competition with other, well-known American varieties, yielding; first place only to Esopus Spitzenbur^ iiSquise de Boheme—This variety which; was introduced from the famous nurseries of Transon Brothers, x Orleans,. France, has cropped at Mylor for some years, and-has proved all that the raisers claimed for it. It is ofgooQ flavour arid a clean grower.
