RIFLE SHOOTING.

NELSON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. . Saturday saw the final for the club's championship, the honour for first place being fought out by Riflemen Milroy and Day, the former winning by the narrow margin of three points. Both marksmen made a big bid at tne last shoot, the distances being 800 and 900 yards. Milroy put on a 47 at 800 yards, and Day 46. On going back to 900 yards both men got up with a 45 each Milroy also secured the leg-in for Mrs J. Anstice's trophy. Rifleman Mitchener takes third place in the Championship. The handicap aggregate was won by Rifleman Ma'nssen, with Riflemen -Doidge and Gledhill second and third respectively. Rifleman Day wins the Harris, Cup. The following are the Saturday scores:—
