RIVALS' ANNUAL MEETING.

A SUCCESSFUL TEAR,

Tiie annual meeting of the Rival Foot-1 ball Club was held at Mr E. Opie's rooms last evening. Mr O. Leaper presided over a large attendance of members. \ Last year's report showed a very sue-' cessful season. The senior team made two trips to Blenheim, and although they met with defeat on both occasions they established a feeling .of good-fel-lowsbip between the chibtf concerned.. The club was also successful in winning the Senior and Junior Gups, and were runuersnup in the Third-class Championship In connection with the Italian Red Cross Day seven-a-side tournament I the senior seven were successful inwin-' ning, whilst the junior men were run-1 ners-up. j The balance-sheet showed a substantial! credit 'balance after all outstanding accounts had been paid. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Messrs R, Sinclair, T. Brennan, C. Leaner, and W. Bennett for donations received ; also to Messrs T. Brennan, C. Leaper, and Green (Levin and Co.) for srolci medals, which were competed for during the season. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows : —Patron, Mr C. Leaper; president, jNJr. T^ M. Brennan; vice-nresidents, 3Vies<?rs E.Opie. T. Louisson, E. Cann, A.~G. Shrimpton,'R. Sinclair, F. N. Jones, C. Jones, J. Baxter, Wrigglesworth, B\ Crushek and W. Bennett; club captain, Mr H. Chapman; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr A. E. Kitching; Management Committee, Messrs-1. Burke, J. Nisbett, A McConehie, P. Westrupp, VV. Hull, T. Louisson, and Woolf; delegates to Rugby Union, Messrs T. Brennan, T. Burke, J. Nisbett, A. McConchie, and A. E. Kitching. New members elected were: Messrs H. Smith, J. Garyin A. Clements, Me-! Ewan, Trott, T^hil. Westrupp, J. Ford, j C. Lewis, C. McConchie, J. Stubley, and M. Jamieson. ' It was proposed - tjhat a teant- visit Havelock and Carluke at Easter. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr E. Opie for the free use of his room! for meetings; also to Mr A. E. Kitching) for the able manner in which he carried' out his'duties of hon. secretary and .treasurer. The expressed wish of those present was to see the Waimea, Old Boys, and Nelson Clubs again take the field this coming season. A hearty vote of thanks to the chairman .terminated a very successful meeting. - .
