SOLDIERS' BURSARIES.

SIXTY-EIGHT AWARDED

Wellington, March 22. At a meeting of the National "War Funds Council the report of the committee appointed to consider applications for bursaries recommended that 68 of those who applied should be awarded bursaries subject to further inquiries as to health and financial necessities, and also to a recommendation from the Registrar in the case of those who were in attendance at a university college, and of the headmaster of their last school in cases where they had not previously attended college. The report was adopted, and necessary steps will be taken by telegraph in order that there may Be no delay in awarding the bursaries. The winning cases will be further inquired i into.
