UNCERTIFICATED TEACHERS.

CONCESSIONS TO fiIiTURNED MEx\ T

Under the regulations relating to teachers' salaries, a deduction of 10 per cent, is made from the salary ot nead or sole teachers, or those engaged as assistants, who are \incertificated. Recognising that many young men who went on active service probably woiild have been able to quality for a certiiicate if they had not been absent" on service abroad, and in order to assist these returned soldiers, the Hon. J. A. JHanari has given instructions that ior a period of two years after his return |no ' deduction will■ be, made from the l salary of an uncertificated teacher who ihas been on active service. It is considered that during that period they "will have aniple time in which to qualify for a certificate.
