Wellington, Feb. 21. The number of returned soldiers land- ! ed from the Matatua at 10 a.m. to-day was 657. All the South Island troops leave to- j night. | The Ruapehu, with 392 soldiers, 1851 soldiers' wives and between 70 and 80 *young children, berthed this afternoon. Those for Pic-ton, and Nelson will leave by the Mapourika on Monday.

Major Robinson received word yesterday that the following men, ex Returning Draft No. 213, were leaving Wellington for Nelson by the Mapourika yesterday (ranks not given).—G. Beach, W. Beach, Bradley, Gate, Dominick, Eden, Fisher, Haas©, McDonald, Morrison, Murcott. Ricketts, C. Riordan, Silcock, Webb, Wallets, Yarrall, Everett, McPadden, Neil and Hobbs. Bruce leaves on Saturday and Bridger on Monday.
