NELSON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.

On Saturday the Nelson Defence Rifle Club held a competition over ranges 600 and 800 yards, counting for Mr J. Anstice's.trophy. A strong gusty wind accounted for low scoring. The only nflleman to make a s_tand was Rifleman' Irvine, who shot brilliantly, just missing the possible at 600 yards by one point and ringing them all in at 800 yards. He secured an easy leg-in for the trophy.
