A very successful picnic and sports gathering was held at Mrs Stafford's park, Moutere Bluffs, on Boxing Day, there being some two hundred persons present from all parts of the district. Subsequently a dance was held in the schoolroom.

The Tasman Cricket CluTj, which went into recess immediately on the declaration of war, has been revived, and practice has been commenced, with a view to-taking part in matches later in tlio season. "Mr J. L. . Benxies is the lion, secretary, and Mr T. M. Stewart's park in the centre of the settlement has been secured as a playing field.
