COST OF THE WAR.

ADVANCES TO THE ALLIES

New York, Jan. 2. The "New York Times'" Washington correspondent states that the credits advanced to the Allies and other belligerents by the United States total 8455 million, dollars, of which 7670 million dollars consisted of cash.

The cost of the war to the United States is estimated at approximately 22,589 million dollars.
