DISMAL PROSPECTS

London, Jan. 1. The "Star's" Dublin correspondent states that the Sinn Feiners' organisation renders unfavourable the summoning of a mimic parliament to frame a, protective tariff and appoint consuls at British ports. The prOspec-ts are about as dismal as those of the ill-starred Chartist conventions in 1839.

The Sinn Feiners owe their electoral success to a fatuous delusion that the Allies, whom Sinn Fein sympathiser hindered to the utmost, will now force England to grant complete independence to Ireland. When the farmers realise that the Dublin Parliament is passing waste paper resolutions and never performing anything the reign of Sinn Fein will soon end.
