ESCAPE OF INTERNED GERMANS.

A SYDNEY SENSATION

Sydney, Jan. 2.

Aliother prison sensation is reported. During the night, four interned Germans escaped from the detention barracks at the old Darlinghurst gaol by means of an improvised rope made from blankets, scaled the high walls, and got clear away. The mysterious part of the affair ia that the doors of their separate" empty cells were found securely locked and barred, as was also another door through which they had made their exit.

Three of the escapees are prominent athletes, and another had made previous escapes from detention camps.
