THE PROPOSAL CARRIED.

(From "The Colonist," Sept. 26th.)

The polling on the Nelson Harbour Board'.s proposal to raise a special loan of £103,000 for the purchase from the Railway Department of the wharves and adjacent property took place yesterday, and from the results available it would appear that the proposal will be carried.

Very little interest was taken in the procedings in the city, and the voting was comparatively small, 450 votes being cast in favour of the proposal and 239 against. There are 4233 on the roll of the Nelson harbour district, and a three-fifths majoritx of the valid votes cast is required to carry the proposal.
