Mrs William Lock was notified by the Grovernor-General on Saturday that His iVla]esty the King had been graciously PJ e?, Bed,r° a PP°int her to the Fifth Class or the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. His Excellency and Lady Liverpool tendered their congratulations to Mrs Lock upon the honour that has been conferred upon her. She has also received congratulations from the Hon. Arthur Myers (Acting-Minister of Jnnance), as well as from a large number ot-citizens. Since the outbreak of war Mrs Lock has taken a prominent part m all patriotic work, being chairwoman of the Red Cross Committee and until recently occupying a similar position in the Lady Liverpool Committee, bhe lias also taken a keen interest in various other local patriotic efforts.
