A CIVIC RECEPTION.

Wellington, Oct. 15. There was a large attendance at the civic reception tendered.to Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward in 'the Town Hall to-day.

Mr Massey expressed the opinion that the war would,end next year, but in any case victory, was coming—victory was ours. Sir Joseph Ward, declared that after the war consideration would have to be given to that class without whom we cooild not possibly have won the war.
