The number of deaths of old peoplo, between 70, and 100 years of age, recorded in September, was considerably in 'excess of the number reported for the same month last year, being 45, as against, 33 (says an Auckland paper). Last month, .no fewer than five old pooplo passed away, having attained the age of 90 and over. Four of these were widows, the oldest being Lady Osborne Gibbos, of Mount Eden aged 95. The others were Mrs E. A. Blades, 92, Mrs J; Brisrht, 91, and Mrs M. Campbell, 90. Mr Job Ball, who reached the age of 90, was the, only male nonogenarian -whose death was recorded for the month.
