Wellington," Oct. 14. The Baptist Conference passed a resolution expressing gladness at proposals for the reunion of certain evangelistic churches everywhere being received with favour; intimating that the Baptist Union desired that some basis might be found that would make the inclusion of the Baptist Church possible; and expressing willingness to enter into negotiations to that end. The conference further expressed its determination in the meantime to avoid entering into unseemly competition witli other evangelical churches in districts already sufficiently churched, and trusted that some definite understanding might bereached. i
