Sir Douglas Haig reports :-^-

There were successful minor operations on Sunday at several points. English troops captured a strong point in the neighbourhood of Roussey-Boug road.. A counter-attack was repulsed with heavy enemylosses.

We also made progress in the direction of Tomboise Farm and captured a group of strongly held trenches and a strong point north-west of Vendouille.

The English eastward of Gavrelle progressed three-quarters of a mile on a mile front.

The enemy, under a -heayy barrage, penetrated our line at Berthacburt at one point. A counter-attack re-estab-lished the position.

A French communique says:—

In the region- of St.iQuentin we continued to advance last night. We penetrated the woods north of La Fontaine, and carried the fort and village of Vendeuil. We pushed" on to the Oise.
