HELPING HAND SHOP.

The meat shape competition which took plac eat the Helping Hand Shop yesterday was very successful. The first prize was won by Mrs. Trathen and the second by Miss Shea and Mrs. (J. J. Hailey was highly recommended. The judging was done by Airs. Crobs. The prizes were given by Mesdnmes Selby and T v Hunt:

Notwivhstanding the fact that r.he Stoke residents' had a stall in town on Saturday, they gave most liberally to the shop yesterday. The con.mitteo thank them, and also the Port l:-.dies ,for tluir generous contributions. ! Contributions were received from Wakapusika, Korere, Ennerglynn, 'J'ahunanu.', and the Port, Girls' Con^r;.l ('Fifth Standard), Boys' Central, Kn.ok Street, and Cathedral schools, and t^.e city. The boys' help was-muoh iip^reciated. Tho Red Cross Fund Itonehted to the extent of £27 2s. The donations were £6 6s, and the expenses I .'is.
