Wellington, Sept., 18. The Wellington Education Board today decided, in view of the tendency towards centralised control by the Education _ Department, to arrange for a Dominion conference of iiducatiou Boards to discuss various matters in connection with the status of boards, uniformity, of administrative methods, teachers' salaries, school buildings, grants, etc. . A convening committee was appointed to make tne necessary arrangements, for-the conference to* be held in November.

The board also passea a resolution ■that a committee bo set lip to confer with the . Inspectors in regard to the appointment of teachers, .such committ«o" to consist of at least throe members to be elected by the board.
