Tho Inter-Allied Labour Conference ha*' opened at Westminster Hall, delegates from France, Belgium, Britain, America, Italy, Greece, and Serbia attending.

Mr Stuart Bunning, tho new chairman of the Trades Union Congress, in his opening address, said their object was to discover a common policy re» garding peace. They were not there 2to advocate peace at any price, nor as representing the defeatists. The British war aims made it clear that reparation for the damage done .in Northern France and Belgium, and the evacuation of these countries were the first [ ssentials to peace such as Labour prei scribed.

The conference elected Mr Arthur Henderson chairman. *
