Sir Charles Lucas, president of the Royal Colonial Institute, tendered a luncheon to the overseas journalists.
Mr Balfcnir, in supporting the toast of the guests, said the Empire was one in spirit before thowwayr y but it had reached a, new degree of uiity since. Common sacrifices made on a seal© wholly unimaginable before the war had cemented us in a closer unity than ever. Nothing that could occur could ever dissolve it.
