GIRLS' CENTRAL SCHOOL.

PROPOSED) EXTENSION OF

PLAYGROUND

With a view ta extending the play- f ground attached to the Girls' Central i School the School Committee waited [ upon the Hon. G. W. Russell,. Minister *'■ of Internal Affairs, on Monday e\en- Jj ;ing, and asked that the 'Lutheran r Church property and the old cemetery ■ in Collingwood street should be ai« \ quired for the purpose. Yestovday the Minister, who w.a& ac- .1 companied by Messrs E. T£. Bojes 'f] (chairman) W. McConchie, and Mrs. \'< Buchanan (members of the committee) '] and Mr. N. R, Williams, (secretary ot „' the Education Board), inspected the- I properties mentioned. The Lutheran , Church area is at present used as a;j paddock for horses,* and the buiHing 'i as a chaff store.
