AlanuiVicturing Company, .was charged at the Magistrate's Court t-o-day with using methylated spirit as an ingredient in the manuraottu-e of lavender water.. Proof spirit, which was insisted on by law, is hoaviJy dutiable, and the use ot inferior spirit meant that tiie Customs would lose heavily. Mr Frazer, S.M., said thoro was no crinimal intent. A fine was imposed, which,-un-der another section of the Customs Act, will be reduced to £25.
