QUARTERLY MEETING.

' The quarterly meeting"" of EhV Nelson Licensing Committee .was held yesterday. Piesent: Messrs P. Best T Edwards, ff. E. Bartlett, E. Cann, and T. Pettit. Mr Best was appointed actingchairman.

In accordance with a request of tho committee, Senior-Sergeant Barrett reported on repairs, etc., which were in progress at the annual meeting, stating that they had been completed at tiie following hotels-.—Globe, Pier, CastornHouse, Central, Panama, and Black Horse. In some cases more had been done than was required. The' following transfers were granted : Provincial Hotel, J. D. Moriarty to J v\ I-. ,». Baxter (Mr W. C. HarleyV; Vi'aivflt.'i Hots!, Walter Sowman to Charles Goodiug ,Mr E. B. Moore). The committee suggested that in future the 'quarterly meetings should be! held on the first Monday in each quar-| ter, that being the most suitable date. I
