WHEAT PRICES FOR 1919.
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association)
New York, Sspt. 3
President Wilson announced that the present price of wheat, viz., 200 cents,, will be applied to the 1919 crop, unless investigation discloses necessity
for th-s increase
It is difficult to guarantee a price a year ahead, because if there should ho peace. Europe would take advantage of the hucce stocks of grain in Australia,. India, and Argentine. This would mean that the United States would face a loss of five hundred million dollars, through inability to sell the %iv~ plus at the high price guaranteed.
