ACTION BY THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT.

It is semi-officially reported that the Ministry has prepared a report concerning the torpedoing , of. the Atasamendi_, based on telegraphic details ordered ia anticipation of the enforcement of- the regulation of August 10th.

The Government has decided, in view of the strained state of public feeling,, to strictly apply the espionage law and prevent publication of statements calculated to compromise neutrality^ It will also temporarily suspend the guarantees relating to the freedom of the press.
