ESCAPE OF MILITARY PRISONERS
GUARD PLACED UNDER ARREST.

Wellington, July 15. - Five prisoners- wher-were in fne'guardroom at Featherston Military Camp mnde a mj'sterious escape from"there on Friday evening. They had been securely locked xip the previous evening, and the sergeant of : the guard reported all well at 6 a.m. next day. Shortly afterwards it was discovered that the men had escaped. There was nothing to show how the prisoners broke from tlie guardroom and no trace could be found of tnem when a search was made later. The members of the guard have been placed under arrest.
