BAINHAM

A social in aid of the V.M.C.A. war wor.k funds, organised by Mrs T. Walker, was held in the Bainham Hail on the 19th ins£. As the weather was unpropitious there was not a ve?-y Jarge attendance, but otherwise the function was a great success. 'Hie chair waa taken by Mr Elson Bond, and Mr Horace Skilton acted as M.C. Dancing interspersed with musical items constituted the bill of fare. The following were the performers:—Mesdames Kofoed and Bond, pianoforte duet; Mrs Kofoed, Miss Outhbertson, Mr Emery, and Mr Bond, songs; Mrs Kofoed, Misses Jeffries, Cuthbertson, and Lammas, quartettes; and Mrs Kofoed and Mr Bond, vocal duets. Mesdames Kofoed and Bond acted as accompanists, and Mrs Cuthbertson provided the dance music. The work in connection with the V.M.C.A. special appeal is being taken up enthusiastically here. A strong committee has been elected, with Mr Elson Bond as organiser and secretary. At a committee meeting held on February 26th a plan of campaign, proposed by the organiser, was adopted, and it was decided that Bainham" would raise not less than £50.
