ILLICIT SALE OF CHINESE WHISKY.

Wellington, March 1. Ah Chang, fined £30 for illicitly selling Chinese whisky, stated in evidence that during the months of November and December over 100 gallons of spirit 2.7 underproof had been'handled by the defendant's iii-m. He urged in defence that the Chinese considered the spirit a medicine.
