Speaker read a message from His Majesty the King paying a tribute to the late General Sir Frederick Maude's services in Mesopotamia. His Majesty recommended the House of Commons, as a recognition thereof, to grant Lady Maude £25,000.
The letter was loudly applauded. The vote is to be moved on Monday
