In the House of Commons, Sir Auckland' Gedties, Director of National Service, in winding up the debate on tty Man-Power Bill, sad the Government intended to make the utmost possible nye of the home, forces for agriculture r.4iid siniilar purposes. The most anxious problem of the moment was not supplying men for tho Army, but the production of tonnage, transport, agriculture itnd distribution of food.
Sir Auckland Geddes said emphatically tliat he refused to negotiate witb the engineers separately. Ho was opposed to n hole and corner conference. All the i^nions participated in the 1910 agreement.
