London, Jan. H. Tte "Daily News'" corrapondost at Geneva reports that the strikes in Bohemia and. Croatia continue, but elsewhere work has generally resumed. It is becoming hourly more apparent that the workers have gained a remarkable triumph.

The Government restored order only hy capitulating to the strikers. If the Brest Litovsk negotiations result in a Russian peace tl;e Austrian workers will remain quiet. Failure of the negotiations will lead to events of tremendous importance. Berlin realises that a breakdown of the negotiations will mean Austrian defection.

A remarkable procession was that of ten thousand women at. Vienna, carrying a peace banner, on Mondayafternoon. Violent anti-German speeches were made at fourteen great peace meetings that night.
