Nelson and Motueka stone fruits oi best quality are meeting with a ready reception, and heavier shipments art> advised. Tomatoes are in better db mand to-day, as the Hutt crop is latei than anticipated, and we do not expect any quantities from that area for probably two weeks more. Teviot apricots are coming forward in large quantities, and sound fruit is meeting with a gooo. demand. Local dessert apples are in better demand, and heavier supplies are advised; cooking varieties are coming forward very freely, with a fair demana existing. Black currants still continue to come forward from Christchurch, with good values offering. Values toI day are as follows : — Peaches: Extra choice dessert 6s 6d Ito 7s 6d, others 3s to ss. Plums: Choice large Burbank 4s to 5s 6d, others 2s 6d to 3s 6d, Blue Diamond 3s 9d to 4s 3d, Wixon 3s 6d to 4s 6d, October Purple 4s 6d to 5s 6d per halfcase..

Greengages: Choice 6a to 5s 6d, smaller 5s 6d to 5s 9d.

Tomatoes: Extra choice Hutt 6s to 7s per half-case, Nelson extra choice 6s to 7s, choice 4s to 5s 6d, others 2s 6d to 3s.

Potatoes and vegetables are in heavy supply.

Messrs Burbidge and Son report as I follows on the Wellington fruit and produce market:— There is a good demand for all kinds of fruit, especially dessert peaches, apricots, raspberries, coloured tomatoes, and cooking apples. Williams' Bon Chretien pears to-day declined in value. Peaches are in much better demand today, prices:— Peaches: Dessert 6s 6d to 8s 3 cooking 4s to 5s 6dl Apricots 7s 6d to ss. Tomatoes: Coloured 6s to 7s 6d, green 4s 6d to 5s 6d. Nectarines 3s 6d to ss. Plum?: Blue Diamond 3s 9d to 4s 6d, Burbank 3s to 4s, others 3s to 4s. Pears: Williams' Bon Chretien 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Greengages 6s 9d to 8s per half-case. Apples: Cooking 5s to 6s per dump case. Raspberries 7s to- 8s per bucket. Eggs Is Gd per dozen. Vegetables are cheap. Poultry 3s 6d to 5s 6d, ducks 7s to 8s 6d per pair.
