London, Dec. 15. Sir Douglas Haig reports local fighting south-east of Polygon Wood. Before dawn the enemy attacked a position in the neighbourhood of Pol•derhoek Chateau, but were repulsed except at one point where they entered our front trenches on a front of about 300 yards.' The hostile artillery is very active. A later message announces that we regained a considerable portion of the trench.
