WAR SCENES.'
A packed attendance greeted tho film, "War. as it Really is," &hown for tho first time at the Empire Theatre last night. Among the,soo scenes of the picture are incidents showing every type of present day warfare methods. Many innovations in fighting methods are shown, such as a 30-inch gun in .action, a number of floating fortresses X3,sed on the Yser river, great guns mounted on broad gaugo, specially.built/railways, and armoured trains using lCrinch guns. Heavily built armed motor cars are seen in action. Trench fighting forms a large part ot the film—actual fighting where the opposing lines are only 40ft apart. ' Othoi i thrills arc provided by the flying corps section. Last of all comes the surrezider of hundreds of Germans, in a ' French bayonet attack, forced to give , themselves up by the famous "cuilain of fire;" whicl: \mts off- their escape.By way of relief there is a detective drama,.. "The Mystery of the Leaping j Fish," featuring* Douglas. Fairbanks.
