The Russian Minister handed the Pope the text qf the new religious law, wiereby the Pope is permitted to appoint a metropolitan archbishop and bishops, subject to tKe Russian Government's approval.. The Pope will be free to make minor apopintments if he informs the Government. Jesuits will be readmitted to Russia. All religious societies will be allowed full liberty of association,' and conversions to''Catholicism will be allowed. *
