On Sunday next the newly erected Motueka Catholic Church %viii be opened by Archbishop Redwood, who' will bless the building and preach at hi<-h mass at 10.30 a.m. Dean Hollev, Wellington; will sing at high niass . iliere will" be a service at 2.30 p m also. It is said that it is unique in" Australasia in being constructed almost entirely ot marble.

A meotuig of tho Horticultural Society and the Lady Liverpool and- Lied Cross Committees was held on Tuesday evening w hen it was decided to hold a flower show on November '^Sth tie net proceeds, from it to bo divided' between the Lady Liverpool and Rod Cross Societies. Mr F. Hill was elected chairman, and Miss _.. Ryder and Mi J ISoyce joint secretaries; committee' Mesdamos Jaques and Aloifatt Messrs SB. Canavan L. A Boyas/ and P. JliJi It was decided to oifer awards oi merit m lieu of cash prues. Mr J \ Wallace kindly offered to procure special donations for this purpose. Mrs Jaques stated that the Jadies would undertake- to attend to the afternoon tea.
