INADEQUACY OP THE ESCORT.
AN INQUIRY DEMANDED.

London, Oct. 22.
In tfce House of Commons, Commander Bellairs demanded an independent inquiry into the loss of the neutral convoy. He declared that the escort was obviously inadequate.
Dr. McNamara replied that the Government were not prepared for such an inquiry, but a. naval inquiry would be arranged.
