THE ZEPPELIN RAIDS:

BRITISH REPRISAL POLICY INAUGURATED.

The British bays captured the ruin-; of the brewery at Poelcapelle, and made progress in the region oi Houthulst Wood. The French, co-operating on the left, carried all the objectives on a front of one kilometre. There has been unusual aeroplane activity, British machines carrying out extensive bombing raids. The Germans claim to have captured 20,000 prisoners and 100 on the islands in the Gulf of Riga. It seems clear that eight of the eleven Zeppelins attacked in fiance were brought down or hopelessly disabled. The British Home Secretary announced in the House of Com-

njons that two reprisal raids had been m*de against German towns, and that the policy would be continued.
